Parish Banner Competition Winner!

21st July 2021
On behalf of the entire Parish Council, can we bestow our thanks and sincere gratitude to Mr Vernon, the staff and most importantly the pupils of St Vincent’s RC Primary School, for embracing our unique Banner competition! As a new reformed, Parish Council with a passion to reignite through our working theme of “Bridging Links” this joint venture with all three of our schools has been a heart-warming success, much needed in today’s communities.

The competition has now closed and all three schools visited along with our representative Judge, for St Vincent’s the Rev John Traynor, to undertake the arduous task of selecting a winner to represent St Vincent’s hanging in St Joseph’s Church.  To confirm St Vincent’s winner is Ruby J (Year 5).

Not part of the overall competition rules however, but due to the fantastic standard of entries we decided on the day of judging, we should acknowledge a runner up also. Therefore, to confirm St Vincent’s runner up is Sebastian L (Year 6).

Well done to all the pupils who entered the competition, all the entries will be displayed in St Joseph’s church leading up to the grand unveiling event which is due to be held this autumn. There will also be a prize giving ceremony during the unveiling of the banners to all the winners and runners up.

As Chair of the Parish Council embarking on an unknown journey along with likeminded individuals this has truly shown that just to reach out is not to be afraid but to be embraced into the future.

Unveiling event details will be confirmed in the near future!

Great wishes
Mike Armstead (Chair)
