Welcome to Blossom Class, our Key Stage 1 Designated Provision, where every child is valued, celebrated and supported to flourish.

Blossom Class provides a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating environment for children with additional communication and interaction needs. We recognise that every child is unique, with their own strengths, interests and individual way of learning. Our aim is to help every child feel safe, happy and confident, developing the skills they need to become as independent as possible.

Our curriculum is carefully personalised to meet the developmental needs of each child, with a strong focus on communication and language, early learning skills, independence and emotional wellbeing. Learning takes place through meaningful play, sensory exploration, practical experiences and carefully planned adult-led activities.

Communication is at the heart of everything we do in Blossom Class. We use a range of approaches, including visuals, objects of reference, gestures, signs, communication aids and spoken language, to ensure every child has opportunities to express themselves, make choices and connect with others.

Our days include sensory exploration, outdoor learning, creative activities, stories, music, movement and practical experiences. We provide a calm, structured and supportive environment where children can develop at their own pace.

Above all, Blossom Class is a place where little steps lead to big achievements. We are proud to nurture each child's individuality, celebrate their progress and help them blossom as confident, happy and curious learners.

Home/School Communication

Working in partnership with families is an important part of life in Blossom Class. A home/school communication book is sent home with each child and completed daily, providing an opportunity to share important information, celebrate achievements and maintain close communication between home and school. We also use Tapestry to record and share aspects of each child’s learning and development, allowing families to celebrate their progress and special moments.

Throughout the year, we will be holding stay and play sessions. This will be an opportunity for you to come and see how your child is getting on at school and to meet other parents.

Uniform
Please ensure that all uniform is clearly labelled. This includes shoes, water bottles and lunch boxes.

PE
PE is on a Thursday. Can you please ensure that your child attends school in their PE kit on this day. Thank you.
