Welcome to Oak Class – a place where we grow together, challenge ourselves and become confident, independent learners! In Year 3/4, we build on the skills children have already developed while encouraging them to take greater responsibility for their own learning and belongings. Our children are expected to show that they belong to our school community by being kind, respectful and responsible, looking after one another and taking pride in our classroom and school.

As the children become more independent, we encourage them to take responsibility for everyday tasks such as organising their own equipment, remembering their belongings, doing up their own coats and tying their shoelaces.
Each day, children should come to school ready to learn with a pencil, red pen, rubber, sharpener and glue stick.
We encourage everyone in Oak Class to have a go, persevere when things are challenging, work well with others and always try their best. Together, we support one another to learn, grow and shine!

Useful Information
PE - Tuesday and Thursday
Homework - Set on Google Classroom each Friday; the children have their logins stuck into the reading journal. We expect all of our children to read at least 3 times a week and for this to be recorded in their reading journals. If a child accesses Read Theory or Reading Eggs this can be classed as one of the reading sessions at home – this is also to be recorded in their reading journals. Journals are checked on a Friday.

Timings of the Day
Learning starts promptly at 8:35 and formal lessons begin at 8:45. The school day ends at 15:00. It is important that child arrives to school on time to ensure no learning is missed.
